Fuck TV was a comprehensive and experiential audio-visual presentation comprised of ten episodes. Aired to a passive and unsuspecting audience on San Francisco’s public access channel from 1997 to 1998, each episode of Fuck TV was dedicated to a specific topic, combining video collage and cut-up techniques set to a harsh electronic soundtrack. The resultant overload of processed imagery and visceral sound was unlike anything presented on television before or since. This DVD set marks the first time that this show has been made available since its original airing.

Samael: Black Trip

The Black Trip album from Swiss heavy metal band Samael is a double DVD set which contains a concert held on Summer Breeze Festival (2002), a live concert held in Live in Studio TVP Łęg, Kraków, Poland, in 1996 during their "Passage" world tour and also a bootleg concert shot in Illinois (USA) during the "Ceremony of Opposites" tour. The film shifts from heavy turbulence to suspended repetition—not as a path to completion, but as a study of the loop itself. Featuring a layered soundscape, the work asks the viewer to stare into the rotation until the noise becomes a mantra.

Getting Down to Earth Again, is a black and white motion picture, produced by Caravel Films Inc. for the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company, Inc., and was about lubricants and proper lubrication of machinery. In 1931, the Socony (Standard Oil Company New York) and the Vacuum Oil Company merged forming the Socony-Vacuum Corp. In 1955, it became the Socony Mobil Oil Company and currently Mobil. Caravel Films Inc. was active in 1932, but no other information was found. This film was probably produced between 1940 and 1942.

Mechanical Principles

Close up we see pistons move up and down or side to side. Pendulums sway, the small parts of machinery move. Gears drive larger wheels. Gears within gears spin. Shafts turn some mechanism that is out of sight. Screws revolve and move other gears; a bit rotates. More subtle mechanisms move other mechanical parts for unknown purposes. Weights rise and fall. The movements, underscored by sound, are rhythmic. Circles, squares, rods, and teeth are in constant and sometimes asymmetrical motion. These human-made mechanical bits seem benign and reassuring.
